The feed to the Refinery is manganese concentrate with nominally 30-33% Mn content from the E25's Butcherbird Manganese Mine. The concentrate will be shipped to the process plant in Louisiana using bulk carriers.
The ore will be delivered to Louisiana under an agreed offtake framework to deliver two ore shipments per year ensuring a secure supply of low carbon, IRA compliant manganese feedstock.
The high purity manganese monohydrate (HPMSM) Refinery is designed to produce a nominal 65,000 tonnes of Electric Vehicle battery grade HPMSM per year from each production train, enough for 1.5 million EVs per year.
The Facility will start up with one operational train and the second train will be commissioned in year 5 of the project, taking HPMSM production up to 130,000 tones per annum after ramping up.
All process reagents are readily available locally in the Louisiana region to service chemical industries that are well established
in the region.
They are typically produced at multiple locations and therefore the risk of supply disruption is minimized.
Costs can be negotiated by Element 25 on competitive terms due to the number of potential suppliers in the region.
